Leadership for Hope Program

Course Details

The Leadership for Hope Program is based on two principles:

  • Together we can achieve more than we can do on our own.
  • Change your thinking, change your life.

The program word consists of 4 modules of 4 to 5 hours each:

  • Module 1 : Lead yourself.
  • Module 2 : Lead your team.
  • Module 3 : Lead your Finances.
  • Module 4 : Lead your Project.

Course Content

Module 1: Lead yourself: If you can change your mindset, you can change your life.

  • Poverty thinking – How do I think?
  • Think like a leader – How does a leader think?
  • Leadership thinking – 7 methods.
  • The hart and character of a leader – Why am I here?
  • My life story – Do I know my life story?
  • Writing my life story – Who is writing my life story? How do I achieve my life goals? 5 Steps to write my own story.

Module 2: Lead your team. Know the goal and let other know your goals.

  • The goal – Why have goals?
  • Values and behaviour – How to treat team members?
  • Shared Vision – Where is “there”?
  • Strategy– How to ensure that the project works?
  • Rolls and responsibilities – Who is doing what?
  • Processes – How are we going to work together?
  • Support and development – How do we grow?

Module 3: Lead your Finances. Finances are a leadership issue

  • What keeps us in poverty?
  • What is good and bad financial management?
  • What are your dreams?
  • Change your financial position by changing your way of thinking.
  • Together we can do more.
  • Save for your life.
  • Personal budget for the future.

Module 4: Lead your own project

  • What is the “why”? What is the purpose of our project?
  • Where is “here”? Start with the reality – What do we have?
  • Where is “there”? What is our shared vision?
  • What is our focus? What key points do we focus on?
  • Who are my partners? Who are going to assist us with our project?
  • What are he steps form “here” to “there”? Planning.
  • We have to take control of our finances. Budget

Certification

Certification of Students

Students will receive certificates only if:

  • All 4 modules were attended.
  • Active participation in all 4 modules.
  • An action plan for each module can be shown.
  • A project plan is developed and implemented that show improvement in their own, work and community life.

HIV/AIDS

Course Details

This training programme is aimed at any learner who needs to demonstrate an understanding of sexuality and HIV/AIDS, and the impact of the infection on oneself, as well as in the workplace and society. It is also aimed at encouraging a healthy lifestyle.

Participants in this programme will be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of sexually transmitted infections including HIV/
  • Describe means to cope and deal with sexually transmitted infections including HIV/AIDS
  • Describe human rights of individuals living with HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infections
  • Describe and explain nature of HIV/AIDS

Course Details

Prevention of substance abuse by creating awareness of the different types of chemical substances, the implications and effects of abuse on family life, the community and the workplace.

Participants in this programme will be able to:

  • Know and describe the effects of abuse on the human body

Sexually Transmitted Diseases & Their Prevention

Course Details

This training programme is aimed at any learner who needs to demonstrate an understanding of sexuality and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and the impact of these infections on oneself, as well as in the workplace and society. It is also aimed at encouraging a healthy lifestyle.

The following specific outcomes, as in accordance with SAQA registered Unit Standards, are addressed by this programme and are outlined below.

Participants in this programme will be able to:
